NORTH ROBINSON — Riverdale’s Allison Woodruff finished as runner-up to lead area runners Saturday in the Kip Kinn Invitational cross country meet at Colonel Crawford.

Times were impressive on a course that was believed to have been a little short on both the high school 5K and junior high 2-mile levels, but even so, Woodruff impressed for the second time in the early season by finishing in 18:29.37. She was topped by Colonel Crawford’s Cecelia Chase, who finished the race in 18:06.38.

The Falcons’ Annalese Woodruff was fourth in 19:27.47, while Addie Manns was 43rd in 22:37.25. Missing several dual-sport athletes, Riverdale settled for a ninth-place team finish with 205 points.

Led by Chloe Etzinger’s 11th-place finish in 19:54.82, Carey finished 11th as a team with 217 points. Abby Kurtz finished 35th in 22:13.44, with Grace Bianchi 65th in 23:52.09 and Gracie Luhring 68th in 24:46.03. Alexis Mattimoe was 80th in 25:45.34.
