Star Players announces cast for ‘Willy Wonka’

The Star Players Inc. has announced its 75-person cast for the summer musical, “Willy Wonka,” which will be staged Aug. 5-7 and 12-14 at the Star Theater in Upper Sandusky.

Mike Webb will play Willy Wonka, and Trey Miller will portray the Candy Man.

The Bucket family includes Sam Smith as Charlie, Andrea Schneider as Mrs. Bucket and Jim Stauffer as Mr. Bucket.

Grandpa Joe is Jim Ruhlen; Grandma Josephine is played by Brandi Boes; Grandpa George is played by Don Spiegel and Grandma Georgina by Tiffany Hunter.

Other characters include Chad Walkins as Augustus Gloop, Paige Barth as Mrs. Gloop, Adrian Malone as Veruca Salt, Jared Barth as Mr. Salt, Andrew Stauffer as Mike Teavee, Jen Ruhlen as Mrs. Teavee, Katie Homburg as Violet Beuregarde, Karen Stauffer as Mrs. Beuregarde, Drew Barth as Phineous Trout and Laura Stauffer as the Camerawoman.

Charlie Bucket’s friends from school include Brayden Scott as James, Eden Morris as Dani, Kenzie Cunningham as Matilda, Braxton Swartz as Alfie, Addie Hoffbauer as Sophie and Emily Ruhlen as Billie. Other Candy Man Chorus kids are Gabby Cametti, Matthew Homburg, Anna Gerber and Wrehn Thompson.

The mischievous, but lovable Oompa Loompas include Mya Lunguy, Lucy Smith, Mckenzie Thompson, Ashten Moor, Leanne Johnson, Kenzie Cunningham, Anna Gerber, Emily Ruhlen, Grace Sayer, Miranda Donnell, Troy Jordan, Jeran Miller, Ellie Dible, Hope Morris, Abby Penwell, Braxton Swartz, Troy Hoffbauer, Eden Morris, Natalie Schuck, Lean Hahn and Raelynn Hahn.

Brooke Swavel will be captain of the aisle Oompa Loompas, and Makenna Rall will be a featured mini-Oompa.

Squirrels include Kaleb Swavel, Sydney Burrier, Avory Gill, Trista Miller, Erica Ruhlen, Adam Eatherton-Behringer, Amara Hord, Katie Ball, Lila Brugmann, Lydia Schneider and Katelyn Phillips.

Cooks include Michael Phillips, Addie Hoffbauer, Jacobi Bardon, Adrihannah Lohr, Katie Cole, Courtney Mengerink, Malielani Lumpkins, Gabby Cametti, Dakota Boose, Lauren Baker, and Abigail Boes.

Lillian Payton will be a featured mini-cook.

Keitha Voorheis is the director for “Willy Wonka.”

Ana Barth is the assistant director, and Tim Sherman is the choreographer.
