Dunlap 4th in HOJGA finale

The Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association tournament schedule wrapped up Tuesday with the Chad A. Wheeler Memorial Tournament at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. Mohawk’s Billy Dunlap finished in fourth place wtih an 86 in the tournament that features winners and runners-up from the tour’s previous seven tournaments.

Kirby 5K slated

KIRBY — The Kilometers in Kirby 5K Run and Walk is 9 a.m. Saturday with registration beginning at 8 a.m. at St. Mary’s Center. Pre-registration includes a shirt and is $20.

Mohawk set for parent meeting

SYCAMORE — Mohawk High School will host its fall sports parent meeting at 7 p.m. Aug. 4 in the Performing Arts Center. The general meeting will be followed by individual sport meetings.

Drive, Chip and Putt winner

Wynford’s Jacob Beaschler, of rural Nevada, took first place in the Drive, Chip and Putt local qualifier last week at The Golf Depot in Gahanna. Beaschler finished first in chipping and putting.

Upper Sandusky volleyball camp was held last week with 35 campers in two sessions: girls entering sixth through eighth grades (left) and girls entering third through fifth grades.

Mohawk’s Dunlap 2nd in division in HOJGA tourney

MARION — Mohawk’s Billy Dunlap finished second in the 16-18 division Monday in the Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association tournament at Marion Country Club. Dunlap shot an 87 to finish five strokes behind winner Zack Hosack, of Mount Gilead, and one stroke ahead of Pleasant’s Griffin McCloy.

Jon Diebler camp

Many area youth traveled to Columbus to take part in the Jon Diebler basketball camps earlier this month. Camp staff included former Ohio State University players Diebler, William Buford, Dallas Lauderdale, Eddie Days, Evan Ravenel and Mark Titus.
