Riverdale cross country teams win tri-meet

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale’s boys and girls had the individual winner and took first place as teams in a cross country tri-meet Thursday at Riverdale. The Falcons boys topped Allen East, 24-31, with Cory-Rawson not having enough runners to score.

State No. 4 L-B shuts out Upper

Savanna Richards scored three times as the No. 4 team in Division III Liberty-Benton shut out Upper Sandusky, 8-0, in a girls North Central Ohio Soccer Association match Thursday. Alexis Rickenbacher had two goals, while Lexi Nagy, Maya Rickle and Lexi Hendel had one apiece.

Upper Sandusky took the third set but Seneca East put away the Rams in four sets, 25-19, 25-9, 16-25, 25-20, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match Thursday night.

Clark medals but Rams fall 2 stokes short

Katie Clark medaled with a season-best score of 46 for Upper Sandusky but the Rams came up just short against Seneca East, 220-222, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls golf match Thursday at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. The Rams (2-9, 2-7 N10) lost by 37 strokes to the Tigers in their first meeting.

Thiel helps Rally for 4-4 draw

FINDLAY — Jaidyn Thiel scored three goals, including one with 1:44 remaining, to help Upper Sandusky earn a 4-4 draw against Liberty-Benton in a boys North Central Ohio Soccer Association match Thursday. With the Rams (2-5-2, 0-1-1 NCOSA) trailing 4-2, Thiel scored two goals in the final 6:11, helping them erase an early 3-0 deficit.

Grothaus leads Carey to tri-match win

CAREY — Dylan Grothaus shot a 41 to lead Carey to a one-stroke victory against Hopewell-Loudon and also a Northern 10 Conference victory against Bucyrus in a boys golf tri-match Thursday at Bob’s Countryside Golf Course. The Blue Devils (6-3, 4-2 N10) edged the Chieftains, 176-177, with the Redmen finishing with a 214.

Riverdale gets win over Waynesfield-Goshen

ARLINGTON — Andrew Kuenzli shot a 40 to lead Riverdale to a 200-206 victory against Waynesfield-Goshen in a nonconference boys golf match Thursday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course. Curtis Tracy backed Kuenzli with a 48 for the Falcons (7-10). Jacob Tackett and Rease Haley both shot 56s.

Rams top Royals, Redmen

Upper Sandusky picked up two more Northern 10 Athletic Conference wins by beating both Wynford and Bucyrus in a boys golf tri-match Wednesday at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. The Rams shot a 166 to finish well ahead of the Royals with a 191 and the Redmen with a 203.
