The Upper Sandusky High School boys soccer team will be holding a soccer camp for boys entering first through eighth grades from June 18-21. Soccer skills will be taught, and each camper will receive a ball and T-shirt.

LEXINGTON — Wynford quarterback Wyatt Smith and tight end and linebacker Cole Heinlen already have played their final down of high school football. They graduated in May and soon will be preparing to play football at Lake Erie College and Walsh University, respectively.

Troy Mawer, Kameryn Webb and Emery Pahl crossed the finish line together in first place, finishing in 19:23, in the St. Peter School Glow Run 5K on Friday night at Stepping Stones Park. Sarah Rall was next and the top female finisher with a time of 20:11.

Mohawk’s Hannah Jordan and Carey’s Hailey Niederkohr were named co-players of the year, and Warriors first-year head coach Mindy Walton was tabbed coach of the year on the All-Daily Chief-Union softball team.

CAREY — Another year, another All-Ohio honor. Carey High School’s Hailey Niederkohr was named first-team All-Ohio as a sophomore, a year after she was named to the second-team All-Ohio list as a freshman.

The Upper Sandusky High School athletic department recently honored 37 student-athletes who participated in three sports during the 2017-18 school year. Each athlete was rewarded with a “Triple Crown Athlete” T-shirt for their contribution to the school’s athletic department.

Wynford’s Logen Sand tied for third place in the season-opening Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association tournament Tuesday at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. Sand shot an 88 with a first-nine 45, followed by a second-nine 43. Sand’s round included six pars and a birdie on No. 9.
