Upper Sandusky High School will be playing Fostoria High School in a Jamboree Football Game at 6 p.m. Aug. 17 at Upper Sandusky High School. A Jamboree is a third preseason football contest to be used as a “dress rehearsal” for the upcoming regular season.

As a student at Upper Sandusky High School, Rick Young threw the shot put and discus on the USHS track and field team. He eventually broke the school record in the shot put. He truly enjoyed the sport. Years later, he became just as passionate about teaching others the mechanics of throwing the shot put and discus as well as other life lessons coaches aim to instill in student-athletes.

Growing up as the daughter of Maryann Holderman — the former head girls basketball coach at Fostoria High School and head coach of the Riverdale girls basketball team from 2005-2017 — Sydney often accompanied her mother to practice.
