NEW RIEGEL — McKenzie Row had 14 kills, 11 digs and three aces, but it was not enough as Carey remained winless with a 17-25, 25-20, 25-13, 25-17 loss to New Riegel on Monday night. Sadie Arend had six kills and five blocks, while Alaina Tiell finished with five kills.

KENTON — Hayden Hicks scored four goals as Kenton ran away with a 9-0 victory against Upper Sandusky in a nonconference boys soccer match Saturday night.

Four different players scored as Kenton defeated Upper Sandusky, 4-0, in a nonconference girls soccer match Saturday night. Lauren Bartlett scored the first half’s only goal with 14:51 left.

NORTH ROBINSON — Carey freshman Sarah Reinhart won the girls individual title, while both the Upper Sandusky girls and boys cross country teams took third place Saturday in the Colonel Crawford Early Bird Invitational. Reinhart finished in 21:14.06, easily outpacing runner-up Allison Farson of Elgin, who finished in 21:28.66.

CONTINENTAL — Riverdale dominated possession and shots on goal and edged Continental, 4-3, in a nonconference girls soccer match Saturday at Continental. The Pirates (1-1) and Alex Hoeffel made the most of only four shots on goal, scoring three times, but it was not quite enough.

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk volleyball team won the “Hoover Bowl IV” championship and successfully defended its title from last year by beating both Old Fort and Edison in straight sets on Saturday. The Warriors, coached by Eric Hoover, beat the Chargers, coached by brother Sean Hoover, 25-22, 25-20, and the Stockaders, coach by mother Nancy Hoover, 25-18, 25-19.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale volleyball team won its third straight match with a 25-23, 25-14, 25-15 victory against Bucyrus on Saturday. The Falcons (3-1) now have tripled their win total from all of last season.

ATTICA — Wynford’s girls were seventh and the boys eighth in the White Division of the Seneca East Tiger Classic cross country meet Saturday. The Royals girls scored 187 points. Mohawk had 233 points and finished ninth.

MILLER CITY — Riverdale scored a pair of late goals to put away Miller City, 3-0, in a nonconference boys soccer match Saturday at Miller City. Ryder Egbert’s goal with five minutes left in the first half was the only score in the first 75 minutes of the match.

BUCYRUS — Shelby topped Wynford, 25-12, 25-20, 25-17, in a nonconference volleyball match Saturday at Wynford.
