Falcons top Eagles

GALION — The Riverdale golf team picked up its first victory of the season by defeating Colonel Crawford, 197-225, on Wednesday at Valley View Golf Course. Andrew Kuenzli led the way for the Falcons (1-2) by shooting a 3-over-par 39 that included birdies on Nos. 2 and 5.

Big Red downs Royals in dual

SHELBY — Josh Crall shot a 43 to lead Wynford but it was not enough in a 172-191 victory by Plymouth in a boys golf dual match Wednesday at Woody Ridge Golf Course. Aden Caldwell had a 44, and Kayleb Keaton shot a 46, but the Royals (0-1) settled for a 58 for the fourth score, shot by both Kyle Koons and Mitch Zaebst.

Royals finish in 3rd place; Warriors’ Drum cards 79

NEW WASHINGTON — Mohawk’s Logan Drum was medalist runner-up, and Wynford was third as a team Tuesday in the Buckeye Central Invitational boys golf tournament at Cranberry Hills Golf Course. Seneca East’s Jake Forehand shot a 78 to medal and lead the Tigers to a one-stroke victory over River Valley 347-348.

Carey 13th at Allen East Invite

HARROD — Carey finished 13th among 19 teams to open its boys golf season in the Allen East Invitational on Tuesday at Colonial Golfers Club. Liberty-Benton ran away with first place with a 312, easily finishing ahead of Kalida, which finished with a 329.

Upper, Mohawk open seasons at Clyde

CLYDE — Brett Montgomery was third individually to help Upper Sandusky finish third as a team Monday in the Clyde Invitational at Green Hills Golf Course. Montgomery shot a 74, including a 36 on the back nine, and finished four strokes back of Galion’s Jack McElligott. Margaretta’s Carson Kennedy was runner-up with a 73.

Underwood leads Royals by Cougars

ASHLAND — Abby Underwood medaled with a 49 to lead Wynford’s girls golf team to a 221-245 victory against Ashland Crestview in a season-opening nonconference girls dual match Monday at Brookside Golf Course. Underwood scored a pair of pars on the par-35 course, while Emily Rudd carded a 53 to finish as medalist runner-up. Katie Schiefer shot a 58, and Gabby Johnson scored a 61 for the Royals (1-0).
