Hannam’s basket gives Mohawk win

CAREY — Reese Hannam knocked down a 10-foot jumper with 14 seconds left to lift Mohawk to a 55-53 victory against Carey in a freshman boys basketball game Saturday. Hannam finished with 8 points for the Warriors, who were led by Nathan Geary with 18 points.

Alexis Fogle, Maddie McLaughlin and Alivia Oney all scored in double figures as the Rams pulled away from Ridgedale to remain unbeaten in Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls basketball play with a 49-28 victory.

CAREY — It took seven games, but it finally happened. Senior Hannah Lonsway scored 13 points, Alaina Tiell and Sadie Arend each scored 9 points and Avarie Stewart added 5 points as the Carey girls basketball team got its first victory and snapped its season opening six-game losing streak with a 38-26 victory over Mohawk on Friday at Carey.

Riverdale pulls away to win third straight game

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale pulled away with a big third quarter and won its third straight game by beating Leipsic 57-41 in a Blanchard Valley Conference boys basketball game Friday night at Riverdale. The Falcons (3-2, 2-0 BVC) took a 16-10 lead after one quarter before the Vikings (2-2, 1-1 BVC) cut their deficit to 27-25 by halftime.

Wynford starts fast in win over Crawford

NORTH ROBINSON — Wynford built a big lead in the fourth quarter and rode it to a 57-48 victory against Colonel Crawford in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls basketball game Friday night. The Royals (5-2, 3-1 N10) led 20-6 after one quarter and increased their lead to 33-16 by halftime.

CAREY — With Carey filling it up from the outside, it had it all going on Thursday night. Griffin Summit began the game with a pair of 3-pointers and scored 21 points, while Jordan Dasher connected four times from downtown and scored 15 points as Carey ran away from Colonel Crawford 49-34.
