Nonetheless, the Rams did not relent. The Bucks were unable to keep it up and the Rams eventually ran away with a 76-49 victory Saturday night in New Washington.

Hayman has big 1st quarter in Mohawk rout of Bucyrus

BUCYRUS — Zach Hayman scored 15 of his 18 points in the first quarter as Mohawk started fast on its way to a 73-43 victory against Bucyrus in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball game Saturday night. The Warriors (6-0, 4-0 N10) led 28-14 after one quarter and 42-25 at halftime.

Arlington pulls away from Carey

ARLINGTON — Morgan Smith scored 18 points to lead Arlington to a 57-26 victory against Carey in a nonconference girls basketball game Saturday. The Red Devils (7-2) led 16-6 after one quarter, 26-9 at halftime and 36-17 entering the fourth quarter.

Mohawk freshmen defeat Wynford

SYCAMORE — Nathan Geary scored 17 points to lead the Mohawk freshman boys basketball team to a 54-32 victory against Wynford on Saturday. Bryce Lange added 15 points, while Reece Hamman scored 8 points and Collin Barth had 6 points for the Warriors.

SYCAMORE — It wasn’t the prettiest game, but the Mohawk boys basketball team got the job done against a gritty Carey team Friday night at Mohawk High School in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference game. The Warriors never trailed in a physical contest, but never created enough separation to get comfortable either, winning 46-40 in a defensive struggle.

Eagles rally past Royals in 4th quarter

NORTH ROBINSON — Colonel Crawford needed a big fourth quarter to rally past Wynford, 53-46, for its first Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball win of the season Friday night. Trailing 41-35 entering the fourth quarter, the Eagles (3-3, 1-3 N10) outscored the Royals 18-5, with Jordan Fenner scoring 9 of his 21 points in the final eight minutes.

Vanden Bosch helps Riverdale overcome slow start, top C-R

RAWSON — If there’s one person that the Riverdale girls basketball team has relied on this season, it’s senior forward Bry Vanden Bosch. In the midst of another slow start, a start in which the Falcons were trailing by 11 points early in the first quarter, the Falcons closed the half on a 14-point run, a run in which Vanden Bosch scored 11 of the Falcons’ 19 points the rest of the half.
