CAREY — On a night in which the Northern 10 Athletic Conference’s leader in batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage was held hitless, her teammates stepped up when it was most needed. Emma Wagner and Bridget Mullholand were each 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI, McKenzie Row was 2 for 3 with a run scored and Mary Racheter was 1 for 3 as the Carey softball team used a three-run third inning to defeat the Mohawk softball team 4-1 on Tuesday at Water Works Park.

NORTH ROBINSON — Wynford’s girls were third and the boys were fourth Tuesday in the Crawford County Meet at Colonel Crawford. Galion won both championships, beating Colonel Crawford 195.5-147 for the girls title and Bucyrus 169-102 for the boys title. Wynford’s boys scored 83 points, while the girls scored 63 points.

ATTICA — Carey’s girls used their depth to take victory in a track and field tri-meet Tuesday at Seneca East. The Blue Devils scored 88 points to 51 for Seneca East and 39 for Mohawk. The Tigers topped the Blue Devils 75-62 for first place in the boys competition, with the Warriors scoring 34 points.

SYCAMORE — Aubrie Harper celebrated her birthday with a go-ahead home run and a victory. The Northern 10 Athletic Conference’s leader in home runs blasted her sixth of the season as Mohawk slugged its way past Wynford 13-10 in an N10 softball game Monday in Sycamore.

SYCAMORE — How patient was the Mohawk baseball team at the plate? The Warriors drew 10 walks, including two with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth, in their 6-1 victory over Wynford on Monday at Mohawk. “We talked about it,” Mohawk coach Eric Hoover said.

DOLA — Riverdale’s girls were third and the boys were fifth Monday in the Hardin Northern Invitational track and field meet. Leipsic topped Arlington 166-136 for first place on the girls side, with Riverdale scoring 98 points in the meet postponed from Saturday.

Upper Sandusky’s girls and boys won big in a home tri-meet Monday against Ridgedale and Buckeye Central. The Rams girls scored 105 points, with the Rockets topping the Buckettes 31-20. The Rams boys scored 110 points, followed by the Rockets with 30 points and the Bucks with 17 points.

ATTICA — Rickie Lacy gave up a first-inning run but shut down Upper Sandusky after that, handing the Rams their first Northern 10 Athletic Conference loss of the year, 2-1, on Monday at Seneca East. Lacy (2-2) gave up an unearned run in the first inning. Parker Frombaugh reached on an error and scored on a Ben Sheaffer double.

ATTICA — Jillian Allgyre’s grand slam in the fifth inning was not quite enough to rally Seneca East, as Upper Sandusky held on for a 7-5 victory in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Monday at Seneca East. The Rams (12-5, 9-1 N10) led 6-1 after a four-run fourth inning but the Tigers (7-8, 4-7 N10) got to within one.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Van Buren had huge first and second innings and took a run-rule victory against Riverdale, 13-1, in Blanchard Valley Conference softball action Monday at Riverdale. The Black Knights (9-3, 6-2 BVC) took a 4-1 lead after one inning and then scored seven times in the second inning.
