Warriors rout Hornets

RAWSON — Tess Weinandy and MaKenna Hurley both homered, doubled, singled, scored three runs and had four RBIs to lead Mohawk’s 27-2 rout of Cory-Rawson to open the softball season Monday. The Warriors (1-0) scored eight times in the first inning, eight more times in the third inning and 11 times in the fourth inning.

Brown leads Mohawk win

RAWSON — Parker Brown had four hits as Mohawk pulled away late for a 16-2 victory against Cory-Rawson to open the baseball season Monday. The Warriors (1-0) took a 6-0 lead with three runs each in the first and third innings.

Barons shut out Royals, 8-0

DELAWARE — Buckeye Valley scored twice in the first inning and six times in the third inning of an 8-0 victory against Wynford in a nonconference baseball game Monday. Hunter Moffatt struck out eight in five innings in the win for the Barons, giving up just three hits with no walks Landon Alexander pitching the final two innings, giving up just one hit with two strikeouts.

Physicals set at Upper gym

Upper Sandusky High School and SportsCare at Wyandot Memorial Hospital are partnering to offer athletic physicals for high school and middle school athletes (entering seventh through 12th grades) on May 30. WMH staff and local optometrists will provide physical exams for a $15 donation to the USHS Athletic Department.
