In only 20 minutes out of goal, Cortni Brown came within one of tying the school record for goals in match, finding the back of the net four times in the Upper Sandusky girls soccer team’s 7-0 victory against Galion on Saturday at Upper Sandusky.

Jaidyn Thiel scored an unassisted goal with 5:28 remaining to give Upper Sandusky a 2-1 boys soccer victory against Galion on Saturday at Upper Sandusky. Upper Sandusky (3-8-1) took the lead only 2:59 into the match when Thiel assisted an Austin Andrews goal, but Galion (4-8-1) answered nine minutes later with a goal by Carter Keinath. The score remained 1-1 for the next 63 minutes.

NEW WASHINGTON — Carey’s Sarah Reinhart won another race, but it was Wynford that was the local standout team Saturday in the Buckeye Central Invitational cross country meet. Reinhart took first place by about a minute in the girls race, finishing in 19:22.29. Wynford’s boys were runner-up 59-89 to Northmor, with Carey taking third with 92 points.

OLD FORT — Upper Sandusky’s girls and boys cross country teams both finished 10th in the Old Fort Invitational on Saturday. The Rams girls scored 240 points. Liberty Center topped Tiffin Columbian 55-76 for first place. Mohawk was 14th with 359 points.

MONROEVILLE — Monroeville, ranked No. 6 in Division IV in the state, got 13 kills from Kylee Brooks and 11 more from Kelsie Palmer in defeating Mohawk 25-22, 25-14, 25-22 in nonconference volleyball action Saturday at Monroeville.

ARCADIA — Arcadia rolled to a 25-13, 25-14, 25-9 victory against Carey in a nonconference volleyball match Saturday at Arcadia. McKenzie Row led the Blue Devils (7-10) with five kills and six digs, while Addi Miller and Alaina Tiell had four kills and one block each. Bailey Tanner served two aces and had two kills.

ATTICA — Playing the top team in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference, Mohawk couldn’t afford to fall behind early against Seneca East.

NEW WASHINGTON — As good as the connection between Mason Vent and Diago Cazares was in the first half, the Upper Sandusky quarterback-receiver combo needed to make one more big play to put away Buckeye Central late in the game Friday night.

CAREY — Carey couldn’t have asked for more — a chance to likely tie or possibly win the contest after trailing by as many as 14 points at the end of the third quarter.

RAWSON — Max Morris threw for 283 yards and two touchdowns and ran 15 times for 95 yards and another score to lead Riverdale to a 28-14 road victory against Cory-Rawson in Blanchard Valley Conference play Friday night.
