Royals’ Noah Smith strikes out 13

NORTH ROBINSON — Three days after his brother dominated Colonel Crawford hitters, Noah Smith did the same on Monday, throwing a one-hit, 13-strikeout shutout in a 6-0 Wynford victory Monday in Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball action.

Studer leads Eagles past Royals, 6-2

NORTH ROBINSON — Sydney Studer struck out nine batters as Colonel Crawford defeated Wynford, 6-2, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Monday. Studer (5-1) gave up just one earned run on five hits and three walks. She also hit two batters.

Wayne Frey leads Falcons to 9-0 win

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Aidan Loveridge homered, Wayne Frey came up one out shy of a complete game shutout, and Riverdale won its fourth straight game with a 9-0 victory against Arcadia on Monday in Blanchard Valley Conference baseball action.

Arcadia scores runs early to beat Riverdale

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Arcadia began the game with a pair of huge innings in taking an 18-1 victory against Riverdale on Monday in a Blanchard Valley Conference softball game. The Redskins (2-5, 1-1 BVC) scored nine times in the first inning and eight times in the second inning.

Hopewell tops Upper, 11-3

BASCOM — Cold temperatures weren’t the only challenge for the Upper Sandusky softball team against the Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains on Saturday. The Hopewell-Loudon softball team scored early and often, scoring two runs in the first inning, four in the third, three in the fourth and one in the fifth and sixth innings on the way to an 11-3 victory over Upper Sandusky at Hopewell-Loudon.

USHS to have hoops camp

Upper Sandusky Little Rams boys summer basketball camp is June 4-6 at Upper Sandusky High School. Coach Jeff Winslow and the boys basketball staff will offer instruction on the fundamentals of basketball for boys entering third through sixth grades from 8:30-11 a.m. each day.

Physicals to be held at USHS

Upper Sandusky High School and SportsCare at Wyandot Memorial Hospital are partnering to offer athletic physicals for high school and middle school athletes (entering seventh through 12th grades) on May 30. WMH staff and local optometrists will provide physical exams for a $15 donation to the USHS Athletic Department.

Upper Sandusky High School is searching for a head girls tennis coach for the 2018-19 school year. CAREY — With wind chills below freezing, it was not a pleasant afternoon for softball Friday at Carey Water Works Park. Even more so for Mohawk, which struggled to handle the strong wind on multiple fly balls while committing eight errors in a 10-0 loss to rival Carey in Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball play.
