MOUNT BLANCHARD — Jacob Williams scored at the 16:02 mark in the second half to give Continental a 1-0 boys soccer victory against Riverdale on Saturday night. The Pirates (7-2) took nine shots on goal, with Ethan Shane saving eight of them.

ARCADIA — Destini Oler hammered 16 kills as Mohawk defeated Arcadia, 25-16, 25-10, 23-25, 25-20, in a non-conference volleyball match Saturday. Madi Chester also had a strong match with six aces and 13 digs, and Emily Conner had eight kills and four blocks.

SYCAMORE — Carey coach Todd Worst’s theory is that a team has to be able to run the football in order to win. That philosophy proved true Friday night as the Blue Devils rushed for almost 300 yards while holding rival Mohawk to 151 in a 33-14 victory.

MORRAL — Upper Sandusky’s defense was responsible for propelling the Rams to a dominant 48-0 victory against undermanned Ridgedale in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference tilt Friday night at Ridgedale High School.

NORTH ROBINSON — Through its first 18 Northern 10 Athletic Conference games, Wynford went 18-0 with 17 very lopsided victories. The last time the Royals were tested in a league game was a 14-13 win at Carey in Week 4 of 2014.

Upper Sandusky has enjoyed an uptick in its offense since it changed schemes a few games ago. The Rams, who began the season 1-5 while running a 6-2 rotation, with two setters and six attackers, since have gone to a 5-1 rotation, with five attackers around full-time setter Lucy Smith.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Carey’s boys had five runners finish in the top 13 on its way to the championship Thursday in the Riverdale Invitational. The Blue Devils finished with 29 points, with Van Buren a distant second with 78 points.

Chet Margraf shot a 38 to run away with medalist honors as Mohawk topped Buckeye Central, 179-205, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference golf match Thursday at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. With the victory, the Warriors finish the regular season with a 7-1 N10 record for 14 points, the same as Carey and Ridgedale, leaving Tuesday’s league tournament to determine the champion.
