Riverdale game canceled again

Riverdale’s boys basketball game at Kenton scheduled for Saturday was postponed to Monday and then postponed again to a date to be determined. The Riverdale girls basketball home game against Kenton scheduled for Saturday also was postponed with no make-up date announced.

NW district indoor track slated Jan. 20

FINDLAY — The Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches will host the Northwest Ohio District Indoor Track and Field Invitation on Jan. 20 at the University of Findlay’s Malcolm Athletic Center inside the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex.

Carey rolls after good 1st quarter

CAREY — Carey finally got off to a good start, and the rest of the game played out nicely. The Blue Devils sprinted out to a 29-14 first-quarter lead Saturday against Mohawk and built on that advantage. They won, 73-44, to improve to 2-1 in Northern 10 Athletic Conference play.

Carey’s depth overwhelms Wynford

CAREY — Carey’s two leading scorers both got into foul trouble in the first half, but it was no problem Saturday. The Blue Devils had five different players score either nine or 10 points, and they rolled to a 59-20 victory against Wynford in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls basketball game.

Warriors 2nd, Devils 3rd at Mohawk

SYCAMORE — Mohawk was second and Carey third Saturday in the first Mohawk Invitational wrestling tournament. Gibsonburg went 3-0 to take first place, with the Warriors finishing 2-1 and the Blue Devils 1-2. Northwood was winless. Two teams did not compete because of road conditions.

Upper boys 3rd, girls 4th in Fremont

FREMONT — Upper Sandusky’s boys took third and the girls fourth Saturday in the 15-team Fremont St. Joseph Streak Invitational at Fremont Ross High School. Norwalk topped Tiffin Columbian, 381-343, for first place in the girls competition, with Sandusky St. Mary just ahead of Upper Sandusky, 311-303.
