Galion tops Mohawk in district warm-up

GALION — The Mohawk baseball team dropped a 9-1 decision to Galion in a warm-up Monday for this week’s district tournament. The Tigers (17-8) scored four times in the first inning, twice each in the fourth and fifth innings and once in the sixth inning.

Harper leads Mohawk’s 7-2 win

SYCAMORE — Mohawk’s Austin Harper made a strong case as to why he ought to defend his Northern 10 Athletic Conference Player of the Year award in a 7-2 victory over Carey. On the pitching mound, he struck out 10 in a complete game with two walks, five hits and one earned run allowed, and at the plate, he broke open the game and chased Carey starter Brayden Wentling with a three-run double in the fifth inning.

USHS taking donations of soccer gear

The Upper Sandusky High School boys and girls soccer programs are seeking donations to be sent to orphanages and schools in Ukraine. The deadline to drop off new or gently used soccer gear has been extended to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the USHS office.
