MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale improved to 5-1 (3-0 Blanchard Valley Conference) with a 10-0 win over Vanlue in five innings Wednesday. The Falcons scored two runs in the first inning, two in the third, five in the fourth and one in the fifth.

FINDLAY — Upper Sandusky’s junior varsity baseball team topped Liberty-Benton in a weather-shortened baseball game, 11-3, on Wednesday.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Vanlue doubled up Riverdale, 6-3, in a rain-shortened softball game Wednesday. Janessa Taylor (0-6) was the losing pitcher.

NORTH ROBINSON — Colonel Crawford scored 13 times in the first inning, and Sydney Studer hit a pair of three-run home runs to lead the Eagles to a 20-2 victory in five innings against Mohawk in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Wednesday.

SYCAMORE — Mohawk’s girls edged Wynford, 66-56, for first place in a tri-meet Tuesday at Mohawk. Ridgedale was third with 21 points.

CAREY — Upper Sandusky’s girls and Colonel Crawford’s boys won a tri-meet Tuesday at Carey. Upper Sandusky topped Carey, 78-52, with Colonel Crawford scoring 45 points in the girls competition.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale’s girls were winners of a quad meet, while the boys took second Tuesday at Riverdale. Riverdale held a 110-78 advantage over Kenton in the girls competition, while Arcadia edged Vanlue, 34-24, for third.

BUCYRUS — River Valley rallied to beat Wynford, 3-2, in a non-league baseball game Tuesday. Trailing 2-1 in the top of the seventh, the Vikings scored two runs to take the lead into the home half and closed out the game.

BUCYRUS — River Valley stormed past Wynford, 13-1, in a non-league softball game Monday. The Vikings had 19 hits.

BASCOM — Riverdale had 12 hits, but only scored four runs in a 13-4 Blanchard Valley Conference loss at Hopewell-Loudon on Tuesday. The Chieftains scored three runs in the first inning and two in the second to take control early.
