USHS hiring softball coach

Black Marlins open season with wins

TIFFIN — The Upper Sandusky Black Marlins summer swim teams defeated the Tiffin YMCA to open the season Wednesday at Harrison Smith Park. The Black Marlins girls defeated Tiffin, 238-112, while the boys were 223-76 winners.

Shoot-A-Way owner inducted into hoops HOF

Upper Sandusky resident John Joseph recently was inducted as a contributor to the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame. As the owner of Shoot-A-Way, Joseph has sold more than 10,000 Shoot-A-Ways across the country and more than 21,000 “Guns” are being used by schools to help improve their shooting faster since it was created in 1998.

Tournament champs

The Upper Thunder 10-and-under team recently went 5-0 to win the Kenton Chaos tournament, while the Upper Thunder 12U team was 3-2 and reached the semifinals.
