CAREY — Carey’s Sydney Wentling was a third-team pick, and teammate Shelby Kin was given honorable mention on the Division IV All-Ohio girls basketball teams announced Monday. Wentling, a 5-10 senior point guard, was a special mention All-Ohio pick a year ago, and her coach Phil Vaughn said she deserved even better than third-team status this year.

Top-seeded Don McLaughlin, the returning champion, is among the four championship bracket semifinalists after one weekend of play in the Wyandot Match Game Invitational at Wyandot Lanes. James Ross, Kory Walton and Chuck Koons also advanced to the semifinals without a loss in the double-elimination tournament.

Upper Sandusky took second place in a 10-team third-grade league hosted by River Valley this season, losing to the Vikings, 23-21, in the championship game and finishing 8-4 on the year.
