Carey girls 2nd at BC

NEW WASHINGTON — Carey’s girls were second and the boys were fifth in the Stache Dash Invitational on Thursday at Buckeye Central. Willard topped Carey, 116-97, for the girls championship, with Colonel Crawford third with 94 points.

Upper JV baseball earns win

NEW WASHINGTON — Upper Sandusky’s junior varsity baseball team remained undefeated in Northern 10 Athletic Conference games with a 6-1 victory against Buckeye Central on Thursday. Brandon Giesey gave up one run on six hits and no walks with seven strikeouts.

Warriors’ Jordan throws 2-hitter

BUCYRUS — Mohawk scored three runs in the fourth inning and beat Bucyrus, 5-2, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Wednesday. The Redmen (1-6, 1-2 N10) answered with one run each in the bottom of fourth and fifth innings, but the Warriors (6-3, 3-3 N10) came back with single runs of their own in the sixth and seventh innings.

Eagles hand Falcons 1st BVC loss

FINDLAY — Wyatt Young doubled in two runs in the first inning and Liberty-Benton never gave up the lead in a 7-3 Blanchard Valley Conference baseball victory over Riverdale on Wednesday. The Eagles added a run in the bottom of the third inning, two in the fourth and two in the sixth.

Schneider pitches shutout

NEW WASHINGTON — Arik Schneider threw a four-hit shutout to lead Upper Sandusky baseball to a 4-0 victory at Buckeye Central on Wednesday. Schneider (1-2) walked none and struck out four as the Rams (6-7, 4-1 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) won their fourth straight game.

Rams score 11 in 3rd inning

NEW WASHINGTON — Upper Sandusky overcame a three-run Buckeye Central first inning by scoring 11 times in the third inning and three more times in the fourth in a five-inning 14-3 Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball victory Wednesday.
