BUCYRUS — Wynford's boys were second and the girls were third in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference track and field tri-meet Tuesday at Wynford. Colonel Crawford's boys topped Wynford, 85-70, for first place.

BUCYRUS — In a game that featured a fair share of offense, it was a defensive play that saved the day for Mohawk in a 7-6 win. Down 7-5 in the bottom of the seventh, Wynford got back-to-back one-out singles from Caleb Stone and Wyatt Smith, and both runners moved into scoring position on a wild pitch.

Once Upper Sandusky’s bats finally came to life, they did so in a big way. The Rams (10-4, 6-1 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) scored seven times in the fifth inning and four times in the sixth to beat Seneca East, 11-2, on Monday.

BUCYRUS — Wynford outhit Mohawk, but the Warriors took a 4-1 victory in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Monday. The Royals (3-6, 1-5 N10) finished with seven hits, while the Warriors (8-5, 5-3 N10) had only three but nonetheless managed two runs each in the first and fifth innings.

Seneca East scored early and often in a 9-3 victory against Upper Sandusky on Monday that puts it alone atop the Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball standings.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale’s boys and girls track and field teams won easily in a home tri-meet Monday. The Falcons girls scored 99 points, with Liberty-Benton edging Arcadia, 34-31, for second. The Falcons boys had 100 points, with the Eagles again edging the Redskins, 35-28, for second.

ONTARIO — Usually dominant in doubles play, Upper Sandusky’s boys tennis team rolled in its singles matches in a 5-0 victory Monday at Ontario.

NEW RIEGEL — New Riegel earned a 4-3 walkoff win over Carey in a non-conference softball game Monday. Both teams scored two runs in the fourth inning, with New Riegel taking a 3-2 lead in the fifth.

McCOMB — McComb topped Riverdale 10-4 in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game Monday. The Panthers plated two runs each in the bottom of the first and second innings before Riverdale (7-4, 3-2 BVC) got on the board in the top of the third.

McCOMB — Riverdale fell to 0-10 with a 14-4 loss at McComb in six innings Monday. The Falcons fizzled out after a 4-0 start in the top of the first inning.
