Upper Sandusky High School Athletic Director Brad Ehrman reported Wyandot Memorial Hospital’s sports physicals for high school and middle school athletes raised $1,005 to help purchase medical supplies for district teams.

Special Olympics Ohio is trying to move toward unified events, and Wyandot County is taking a lead. Wyandot County is participating in three unified sports during this weekend’s Summer Games: bocce, swimming and volleyball.

MARYSVILLE — Wynford’s Jacob Beaschler was fifth, and Upper Sandusky’s Owen Knapp took seventh Wednesday in the 13-15 division in the Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association tournament at Marysville Golf Course.

What may seem of little value here will mean a lot to children in Ukraine. When Wyandot County residents Charlotte Leeth and Lana and George Sakash visit the poor Eastern European nation in September, they will be able to provide the most requested items — soccer equipment — and in large measure thanks to area donations spearheaded by the Upper Sandusky boys and girls soccer teams.

Upper Sandusky football camp is set for 2-4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at the high school football field. The camp for students entering grades 4-6 costs $30, which includes a T-shirt.

SYCAMORE — Tickets are on sale for the Mohawk reverse raffle to be held Aug. 19 at the Sycamore Community Center. Tickets purchased by July 1 are eligible for early drawing prizes.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Mark Gillfillan 5K Memorial Run/Walk will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Riverdale Schools. Pre-registration is $15 with a shirt and $12 without.

SYCAMORE — The Wyandot County Pheasants Forever and Rogers Lake Conservation Club are sponsoring free youth trap shoots for boys and girls 18 and younger at 6 p.m. June 15, June 29 and July 13 at Rogers Lake, 1748 Ohio 103, Sycamore.
