SYCAMORE — Mohawk got off to a quick start, but Colonel Crawford slowly took over in a 51-34 victory in Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball action Saturday night. The Warriors (3-8, 2-7 N10) led 11-6 after one quarter, and the teams were tied at 17 at halftime before the Eagles (10-4, 7-2 N10) found their mark offensively.

NEW WASHINGTON — By just about any metric, Buckeye Central is one of the top offensive teams in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference. The Bucks entered the week with three double-digit scorers, all ranked in the top 14 individually among league leaders, and the team averages 59.5 points per game to rank second.

CAREY — The Blue Devils girls basketball team continues to roll. Carey made quick work of short-handed Wynford at home Friday, 57-23, to improve to 13-0 (11-0 Northern 10 Athletic Conference). It stretched its first-half lead with an 18-3 run and held the Royals to single digits in each quarter.

BUCYRUS — Ally Weinandy scored the go-ahead basket in overtime, and Mohawk moved into a tie for fourth place in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference with a 53-51 victory at Bucyrus on Friday night.

Angeline rallied for a 46-42 victory against Huron County Christie Lane in a combined varsity and junior varsity game Thursday.

SYCAMORE — Mohawk’s seventh grade girls basketball team topped Wynford in a low-scoring game, 18-9, on Thursday.

ARLINGTON — Arlington started fast and built on its lead throughout a 75-45 Blanchard Valley Conference boys basketball victory against Riverdale on Friday.

NORTH BALTIMORE — Riverdale was not overmatched or outplayed in a heavyweight Blanchard Valley Conference tilt at North Baltimore on Thursday. In the end, it was outdone.

Upper Sandusky won easily in a pair of wrestling matches Wednesday, defeating Bucyrus, 50-24, and Willard, 44-6. All of the Redmen’s points came via forfeit, and the Crimson Flashes managed only a pair of victories by decision.

Wharton First Church of God held on to first place in the Wyandot County Church Dartball League by beating St. Paul Lutheran Church, 6-4 and 2-1, with a 4-2 loss in between Thursday evening.
