The Upper Thunder 10-and-under team recently went 5-0 to win the Kenton Chaos tournament, while the Upper Thunder 12U team was 3-2 and reached the semifinals.

Tyler Leist and Sarah Rall were the top male and female finishers, respectively, in the St. Peter’s 5K Glow Run on Saturday. Leist was the overall winner, finishing in 19:27, while Rall finished sixth overall in 22:15.

Mohawk’s Austin Harper and Eric Hoover repeated top honors on the All-Daily Chief-Union baseball team. Harper was tabbed player of the year for the second straight season, while Hoover was coach of the year again.

CAREY — Only a freshman, Carey’s Hailey Niederkohr already is considered among the best players in the state after receiving All-Ohio second-team honors in Division IV by the Ohio High School Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association.
