Falcons win 2nd straight

ARLINGTON — In just two matches, the Riverdale golf team has surpassed its win total from last year. The Falcons moved to 2-0 with a 222-225 victory against Colonel Crawford on Friday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course.

Drum’s 92 leads Warriors

KANSAS — Logan Drum led the way for Mohawk with a 92 as the Warriors finished 11th of 16 teams Friday in the Lakota Invitational at Nature Trails Golf Course. Tiffin Calvert took the team championship with a 346-353 advantage over Hopewell-Loudon.

Kuenzli leads Falcons to win

ARLINGTON — Riverdale opened its dual season by beating Ridgemont, 209-233, in a non-conference match Thursday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course. Freshman Andrew Kuenzli earned medalist honors with a 41 to lead the Falcons.

Carey’s Miller medals at Tiger Invite

TIFFIN — Marcus Miller won medalist honors as Carey just missed taking the team title Thursday in the Tiger Invitational hosted by Seneca East at Clinton Heights Golf Course. Hopewell-Loudon and Carey tied for the top team score with a 329, but the Chieftains won by having the best fifth score, 89-90.

Upper 3rd at Gallion

GALION — Upper Sandusky’s Brett Montgomery lost a one-hole playoff for medalist honors Wednesday in the Galion Invitational at Sycamore Creek Golf Course. Montgomery and Galion freshman Matt McMullen both shot 73s.

Wynford picked to win N10

BELLEVUE — Wynford was voted the unanimous media favorite to take the Northern 10 Athletic Conference football championship this season. The Royals, winners of the first three N10 championships, received all 14 first-place votes and 112 points.

Upper tops Kenton

Brett Montgomery medaled with a 37 to lead Upper Sandusky to a 173-181 victory against Kenton in a non-conference dual match Tuesday at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. Montgomery had birdies on Nos. 4 and 9.

Miller posts top score

HARROD — Marcus Miller tied for the top score as Carey finished eighth Tuesday in the Colonial Golfers Club Invitational hosted by Allen East. Miller shot a front-nine 39, followed by a back-nine 36 to finish with a 75 that matched Lima Perry’s Logan Dray and Spencerville’s Gavin Harmon. Dray was named medalist.

Royals’ Sand finishes as medalist runner-up

NEW WASHINGTON — Sophomore Logen Sand shot a 78 to finish as medalist runner-up and lead Wynford to a fourth-place finish Tuesday in the Buckeye Central Invitational at Cranberry Hills Golf Course. Led by medalist Jack McElligott with a 75, Galion won the tournament with a 321 to easily top runner-up Buckeye Central with a 340.
