GALION — Upper Sandusky’s junior high boys won the championship Tuesday in the Crestline Invitational at Amann’s Reservoir Park. The Rams topped Fredericktown, 46-75.

The Upper Sandusky Lady Wildcats 10-and-under girls soccer team has a 2-1-1 record through four games. The Lady Wildcats opened with a 5-0 loss to Hardin County YMCA, falling behind 3-0 at halftime.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Sydney Leeper had eight kills and two blocks, and Lyndsey Shaw had 16 assists, seven digs and two aces to lead Van Buren to a 25-6, 25-17, 25-18 victory against Riverdale in a Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball match Monday night.

Upper Sandusky’s Brett Montgomery repeated as player of the year, and Carey’s Martin Baker shared coach of the year honors on the All-Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys golf team.

ONTARIO — The Upper Sandusky girls tennis team dipped below .500 Monday with a 4-1 loss at Ontario. “Even though we lost 4-1, I thought this was the best we played in a while,” Upper Sandusky coach Aaron Frazee said.

NEW WASHINGTON — Carey’s boys finished third Saturday in the Buckeye Central Invitational. Mapleton won with 47 points, while Northmor edged Carey for second, 91-93.

ARCADIA — Sydney Kin had 18 kills to become the all-time leader in Carey history as the Blue Devils defeated Arcadia, 26-24, 25-23, 25-18, in a non-conference volleyball match Saturday. Kin was 40 of 43 hitting with 18 kills, giving her 1,145 in her career.

MARION — Lupe Landaverde scored a goal in each half, and Anson Hill made 10 saves to lead Upper Sandusky to a 2-0 victory against Marion Harding in a non-conference boys soccer match Saturday. The Rams (3-10-1) took 14 shots on goal, compared to 12 by the Presidents (1-9-1).

OLD FORT — Upper Sandusky’s girls finished as runners-up Saturday in the Old Fort Invitational. The Rams were edged, 80-91, by Liberty Center.

Two days after Upper Sandusky swept its singles matches, the Rams were swept in them in a 4-1 loss to Tiffin Calvert in a girls tennis match Saturday. Upper Sandusky’s only win was at No. 2 doubles. Samantha Fagan and Abby Davidson defeated Emma Prince and Marie Welter, 6-3, 6-4.
