GALION — There was little drama Monday in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls golf tournament. Defending champion Buckeye Central, undefeated in league duals, ran away with the championship at Valley View Golf Course with a 387.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Unbeaten Liberty-Benton defeated Riverdale, 25-8, 25-20, 25-11, in a Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball match Monday. Tayler Ashburn led the Falcons (0-9, 0-5 BVC) with nine kills and an assist, while Jessica Johnston had six kills.

NEW RIEGEL — New Riegel dominated the middle set of a 25-20, 25-3, 25-17 victory against Upper Sandusky in a non-conference volleyball match Monday. Lillie Orians paced the Rams (4-8) on offense with six kills on 19-of-21 hitting.

The Cardinals defeated the Packers, 42-20, in a Midget League Football game Sunday. Offensively for the Cardinals: Ethan Hill, 7 carries for 139 yards, 3 TDs, two-point conversion, 2 catches for 33 yards; Gavin Frey, 9 carries for 100 yards, 2 TDs, two-point conversion, 3 completions for 44 yards, two-point conversion; Micah Shasteen, 1 reception for 11 yards, TD; Levi Yeater, 2 carries for 14 yards; Nathan Lewis, 2 carries for 13 yards.

GALION — Madelyn Shasteen finished 18th to lead Upper Sandusky’s girls to a seventh-place finish in the Division II race Saturday in the Galion Festival at Ammons’ Reservoir Park. The Rams scored 229 points. Fairfield Union edged Buckeye Valley, 110-112, for first place.

KANSAS — Short-handed Mohawk was seventh in the girls Division III race and 11th in the boys Division III race Saturday in the Myron Cline Invitational at Lakota. Destini Oler led the Warriors by placing fourth in 21:04.49, while Madison Fredritz was 20th in 22:54.53.

SYCAMORE — Kaylee Ward and Madi Chester carried the load, and Tess Weinandy helped fill Destini Oler’s void Saturday as Mohawk defeated Arcadia, 17-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-23, in a non-conference volleyball home match. One of the Warriors’ leading hitters, Oler missed the match to participate in cross country.

CALEDONIA — Jacob Kellogg’s back-to-back goals in the second half helped River Valley defeat Upper Sandusky, 4-2, in a non-conference boys soccer match Saturday. The Vikings’ lead was cut to 2-1 on a Ross Swinehart goal with 31:51 left in the match, but Kellogg scored with 21:32 remaining and again with just 9:24 to go.

CONTINENTAL — Continental stayed undefeated with a 3-1 victory against Riverdale in a non-conference boys soccer match Saturday. The Pirates (9-0) scored all three of their goals in the first half, all of them unassisted.
