TIFFIN — Gavyn Coppus scored a goal in each half to lift Tiffin Columbian to a 2-1 victory against Upper Sandusky in a boys soccer match Tuesday. Coppus scored with 25:18 left in the first half and with 29:59 left in the second half.

The Cardinals shut out the Cowboys, 34-0, in a Midget League Football game Sunday.

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk seventh- and eight-grade football teams won a combined game against Ridgedale, 36-6, last Tuesday. Jacob Coldiron ran for two touchdowns, while Collin Barth, Jace Margraf and Alex Theis each had one rushing touchdown.

KENTON — Juleigha Collier took first to lead Riverdale’s girls to the championship in the Hardin County Meet on Monday at the Hardin County Fairgrounds. Collier finished in 21:07.72, and the Falcons edged Kenton, 42-44, for first place.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Gabi Rodriguez’s penalty kick with about seven minutes left gave Riverdale a 2-2 tie with visiting Swanton on Monday night as the Falcons twice overcame one-goal deficits in a non-league girls soccer matchup.

LEIPSIC — Kierra Meyer had 11 kills and 19 digs to lead Leipsic to a 25-9, 25-11, 25-10 victory against Riverdale in a Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball match Monday night.

NEW RIEGEL — Destini Oler had 19 kills, and Mohawk rallied for a strong non-conference victory, 25-19, 20-25, 16-25, 25-23, 15-12, at New Riegel on Monday evening. Madi Chester finished with 14 kills, 17 digs, four aces and three blocks for the Warriors (16-4).

FINDLAY — The Ohio Department of Natural Resources announced a one-time drawing for trapping in the wildlife refuge on the Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area will be held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Killdeer Plains check station, located at 19100 CH 115, Harpster, 1.5 miles south of Ohio 294 in Wyandot County.

LIMA — Only a freshman, Shaun Thomas had speed for which Wynford had no answer Saturday night. The 5-9, 170-pound Lima Central Catholic running back ran for 232 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Thunderbirds to a 28-16 non-conference victory against the Royals on a rainy, windy Saturday night game at Spartan Stadium.

SYCAMORE — Saturday morning volleyball has a reputation for sometimes being sluggish, but not for Mohawk’s Destini Oler. By the time she took the court against Upper Sandusky, she already had run a 5K and was ready to go.
