Safety blotter: August 12, 2019

An officer on patrol observed two possible subjects riding a hoverboard on North Warpole Street near West. Wyandot Avenue the early morning of Aug. 9. Both subjects were advised of a city ordinance prohibiting riding in the street. An officer gave an Upper Sandusky man a ride home from the Wyandot Memorial Hospital emergency room the early morning of Aug. 9.

Safety blotter: August 9, 2019

Jonathan Rieser, Harpster, was cited for expired plates on the 400 block of North Warpole Street the early morning of Aug. 6. Jaclyn M. Schmuker, Nevada, was cited for possession of marijuana at Harrison Smith Park the afternoon of Aug. 6.

Safety blotter: August 8, 2019

Kyle L. Dawson, Kenton, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash on Ohio 67 near TH 94 the morning of Aug. 2. A trailer that was being towed suffered disabling damage. An Upper Sandusky man reported theft from a vehicle the afternoon of Aug. 2.

Safety blotter: August 7, 2019

An officer assisted an Upper Sandusky woman with a vehicle lockout on the 400 block of North Warpole Street the afternoon of Aug. 3. Brianne E. Settlemire, Mount Blanchard, was arrested by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant out of Upper Sandusky Municipal Court on an original charge of petty theft the night of Aug. 3.

Safety Blotter: August 5, 2019

Salome Gonzalez, Bronx, New York, was cited for failure to control after a one-vehicle accident on U.S. 23 near CH 42 the morning of July 26. Gonzalez was traveling northbound on U.S. 23 when he failed to negotiate a right turn onto CH 42, driving off the left side of the roadway on CH 42, striking a depressed ditch embankment and then a tree.

Upper Sandusky Police Department An Upper Sandusky man reported vandalism to a residence on the 600 block of South Eighth Street the afternoon of Aug. 1. The man was advised to put cameras up as a security measure and the home was added to a house check list.

Safety blotter: August 2, 2019

Upper Sandusky Police Department Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Broadview Street the early morning of Aug. 1. The residents of an apartment were given prosecutor referral forms and told to contact the office if they wished to press charges in the future. All parties were told to settle down and warned for disorderly conduct.

Safety blotter: August 1, 2019

A caller reported observing a female carrying a backpack and possibly not wearing any shoes crawl into railroad cars on the 100 block of West Hicks Street the morning of July 31. The responding officers searched the cars as well as other cars in the area and were unable to locate anyone.

Safety blotter: July 31, 2019

Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance on the 300 block of Spring Street the afternoon of July 29. The involved parties were advised to avoid future contact with each other. An Upper Sandusky man reported the use of his debit card information by someone from Bellevue the afternoon of July 29. The man was advised to contact the Bellevue Police Department because the offense occurred in its jurisdiction.
