Clinger sworn in as Sycamore chief

SYCAMORE — Nearly 25 people filled the Sycamore Village Council room Tuesday evening to witness the swearing in of a new fire chief. Rod Clinger was sworn in as chief and spent little time soaking in the promotion before getting to work and speaking with council on the happenings of the department.

Coats for Christmas

Area residents came out to St. Peter’s School on Saturday morning to get free coats. Earlier in the year, coats were collected at area businesses and then taken to Kimmel Cleaners, where they were cleaned and distributed back to the community. Daily Chief-Union/Michelle Swinehart

Nevada officials pleased with parade

NEVADA — Village officials agreed at Monday night’s Nevada council meeting the Christmas parade held two weekends ago was a success. “I want to thank all the citizens that lined the streets,” councilman Jeffrey Kindler said. “That amazed me.”
