County farm solar project gets green light

The Wyandot County Board of Commissioners held a session Monday with representatives of Palmer Energy Company to discuss moving forward with a solar project at the Wyandot County farm. The farm is the location of the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and dog shelter on Ohio 199.

May 2 ballot set in Wyandot Co.

Sycamore Village Solicitor James Gucker and Upper Sandusky attorney James Ruhlen will face off in the May 2 Republican primary race for Upper Sandusky Municipal Court judge. The winner’s name will go on the November ballot to replace Judge Thomas Osborn, who is retiring at the end of the year.

Hundreds attend 4-H kickoff event

Hundreds of Wyandot County 4-H members and their families packed the fairgrounds dining hall Sunday to kickoff the 2017 enrollment season. The advisory council announced this year’s 4-H camp will take on a circus theme. Campers will take over Kelleys Island for the annual weeklong event July 13-17, and Cloverbud Fun Day is set for June 16 at the Wyandot County Fairgrounds dining hall.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — During the final week of August and the first few weeks of September, county fair goers flock to the fairgrounds in Findlay, Kenton and Upper Sandusky for the Hancock, Hardin and Wyandot county fairs, which fall on consecutive weeks. The fairs are home to a wide variety of livestock shows for members of 4-H and FFA organizations and open shows for adults.
