Local group gathers to destigmatize issues of mental illness and suicide

As snow blew sideways outside the Wyandot County Courthouse on Saturday, 13 tiny candle flames lit the faces inside during a candlelight vigil to honor 41 people who have died by suicide. Upper Sandusky Mayor Scott Washburn said the contrast between Friday’s sunny, warm weather and Saturday’s frigid blowing snowfall was an example of what it may feel like to live with mental illness.

Ohio bicycle tour to return to Wyandot County

COLUMBUS — The Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure will make a stop in Upper Sandusky on June 20 in a route featuring north central Ohio, organizers announced this morning. Julie Van Winkle, director of the 29th annual GOBA, announced the 2017 tour will run June 17-24 with an expected 1,500 riders starting June 17 at the Hancock County Fairgrounds in Findlay. …
