USDA resumes incentives

WASHINGTON — U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency Administrator Val Dolcini recently announced that $1.5 million will be available in fiscal year 2017 for farmers and foresters who harvest and deliver biomass for renewable energy.

Guardian Industries changes hands

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — A subsidiary of Koch Industries Inc. is purchasing Guardian Industries Corp., the parent company of injection molder SRG Global Inc., according to a Monday article in the Plastic News trade publication.

Mayor: No health insurance increase

For the second year in a row, the city of Upper Sandusky will see no increase in health insurance costs and no change in coverage. Mayor Scott Washburn thanked United Insurance Service representative Scott Dickey and his crew for their work to keep the same rates in 2017.

Wharton officials seek work bids

WHARTON — Wharton Village Council is actively looking to accept bids for garbage removal, snow removal and village maintenance positions following the regular council meeting Monday night. Council voted to accept bids for each position separately, though those interested may bid on all three positions together.

Trapping approved on county land

The Wyandot County Board of Commissioners approved a motion to allow an Upper Sandusky man to continue trapping wildlife on county property for the 2016 season Monday. Steven Webster received permission to continue trapping on the Wyandot County farm surrounding the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Angeline School.
