Sheriff’s deputies write citations

Following a traffic stop of a speeding vehicle on U.S. 23 in Salem Township the night of Aug. 27, a passenger, Johnny C. Meek Jr., Columbus, was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Joseph E. Whisner, Columbus, was cited for operating a vehicle while intoxicated (refusal) and speed following a traffic stop on U.S. 23 near CH 56, Crane Township, the morning of Aug. 28.

Century of service: Two retire from Sycamore Fire and Rescue

A lot has changed in the years since Jerry Clinger and Bob Hosterman first suited up in their fire-fighting rubber coats and hip boots a half-century ago. Clinger, a former Sycamore Fire chief for approximately 17 years, and Hosterman, a fire investigator for the past 15 years, recently tenured their resignations from the Sycamore Fire and Rescue.

Riverdale School to update security system

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale Board of Education is moving forward in its pursuit of an updated security system for the school. The district’s current security system is about 13 to 14 years old, Superintendent Eric Hoffman said at Riverdale’s monthly board meeting Monday.

Update to resource directory complete

The Wyandot County Health Alliance recently announced the completed revision of the county resource directory. The directory is a publication of phone numbers to reach local resources like emergency services, child and family services, education and employment training, food, clothing and housing assistance and mental and physical health services.
