SYCAMORE — A man was cited after a routine sheriff patrol turned into a community-wide pit bull chase that lasted more than three hours Thursday in Sycamore. The dog took extraordinary measures for a little exercise.

BUCYRUS — Wynford school board members approved a meeting schedule and a “dead week” for students during a regular meeting Wednesday. The board will meet in the media center March 16, April 20, May 17, June 15, July 13, Aug. 10, Sept. 20, Oct. 19, Nov. 16 and Dec. 13.

An Upper Sandusky man was sentenced to nearly five years in prison on theft related charges Wednesday in Wyandot County Common Pleas Court. Brandon L. Stowe, 19, was sentenced to 11 months in prison on a fifth-degree felony breaking and entering charge, 12 months on a third-degree burglary charge and 18 months for a third-degree burglary charge, a third-degree grand theft charge, a third-degree burglary charge and third-degree grand theft charge.

SYCAMORE — The Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of damage to several road signs and mailboxes in Sycamore Township on Wednesday night. A township trustee called authorities just after 9:30 p.m. to report a vehicle had run over a stop sign at the intersection of TH 12 and TH 13, and someone damaged a stop sign at the intersection of CH 16 and TH 12, a WCSO report states.

A deputy responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle driving slowly on North Goodbread Street, Nevada, the night of Feb. 9. The motorist was looking for a lost dog.
