Wynford schools win statewide award

BUCYRUS — Wynford Junior High and Wynford High School are two of three schools in Crawford County and 174 schools across the state of Ohio to receive the Department of Education’s 2016 Momentum Award. The award recognizes schools that are closing the gap on all of their value-added measures on the state report card.

Nevada man reportedly assaulted

NEVADA — A Nevada man reported to law enforcement officials he was assaulted in the village late Thursday night. According to a report from the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, the man was walking in the 300 block of North Main Street around 11:30 p.m. when he allegedly was attacked by two men.

Safety Blotter: USPD handles complaints

A resident of the 300 block of Henderson Drive reported a confrontation between her juvenile grandson and another juvenile the afternoon of Sept. 25. The suspect allegedly destroyed property of the grandson and an altercation ensued. The suspect returned with a man who allegedly made threats toward the woman and then left.
