Deadline for ’17 Medicare is today

COLUMBUS — Ohio Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor is reminding Ohioans on Medicare that the open enrollment deadline to determine their coverage for 2017 is today. Taylor, also director of the Ohio Department of Insurance, said people still undecided or just starting the evaluation process can turn to the department’s Ohio Senior Health Insurance Program for free help.

Farm Bureau sets policy, hosts elections

COLUMBUS — Ohio’s largest farm and food organization has established 2017 policy positions on agriculture’s role in protecting water quality, wildlife damage to crops and livestock and the state’s drug epidemic. During Ohio Farm Bureau Federation’s 98th annual convention, 338 delegates representing all 88 Ohio counties voted on hundreds of positions that will set the organization’s direction for the coming year.

USDA accepting applications for CSP

COLUMBUS — The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service is accepting applications for enrollment in the Conservation Stewardship Program, the nation’s largest conservation program. NRCS has made several updates to the program this year to help producers better evaluate their conservation options and the benefits to their operations and natural resources.
