MARSEILLES — Nearly 100 people bowed their heads for a moment of silence before Wyandot County Historical Society Director Ronald Marvin Jr. read the names of the 35 passengers and three crew members who lost their lives aboard Lake Central Flight 527.

MARSEILLES — Sunday is the 50th anniversary of the only recorded commercial airplane crash in Wyandot County history. Lake Central Flight 527 crashed in a field along TH 94, south of Ohio 67 West, southwest of Marseilles on March 5, 1967. “Plane crash in county takes 38 lives,” was the headline in The Daily Chief-Union the following day.
