A deputy responded to a child custody dispute on Lafeyette Street, Tymochtee Township, the morning of May 1. A woman backed her vehicle into the father of her children because he would not let her leave the driveway.

FOREST — World War II was calling the young men throughout the nation in the early 1944, and Stan Spath answer that call at the age of 17. With his friends leaving for the Army, Marines, Air Force and Navy, the high school junior was determined to join them. He thought hard about his options, Spath said.

Wyandot County Commissioners on Thursday approved a $1.2 million contract with a Columbus company to renovate two historical bridges. The Righter Co. will renovate Parker Covered Bridge for $607,988 and Swartz Covered Bridge for $597,672. Ninety-five percent of the cost will be paid for with a federal grant from the Transportation Alternative Program and the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Toll Revenue Credit.

Upper Sandusky police are investigating thefts of two SUVs stolen in two days. A black 2004 GMC Yukon was reported stolen from a home in the 500 block of North Sandusky Avenue on Friday morning, and a woman in the 1100 block of Edgewood Drive reported her 2009 black Chrysler Aspen stolen Thursday morning.

Austin J. Creviston, Upper Sandusky, charged by the police with vehicle trespassing and petty theft, amended plea to no contest, found guilty.
