Wyandot County Board of Developmental Disabilities will ask voters in November for additional tax dollars to support services for the next half-decade, pending approval by county commissioners. The board on Thursday night unanimously voted to recommend commissioners place a 1.5-mill, five-year property tax on the Nov. 7 ballot.

Wyandot County Commissioner Bill Clinger opened three bids for a bridge construction project Thursday morning. The project up for bid is a complete bridge replacement on CH 113 in Pitt Township.

An officer responded to a 911 hang-up call from Wyandot Memorial Hospital the night of June 9. A hospital employee was on the phone with a dispatcher when the officer arrived.

An officer responded to a report of neighbors having problems in the 400 block of North Fourth Street early the morning of June 7. The neighbors agreed to be civil.

CAREY — Carey Mayor Jennifer Rathburn asked Carey Schools Superintendent Mike Wank if it was feasible for the village and school district to work together to build new sports facilities during a meeting between the two community leaders Wednesday morning at Carey School.

LEBANON (AP) — A man convicted of shooting and injuring his father and a southwest Ohio sheriff’s deputy has been sentenced to 36 years in prison. A jury handed down the sentence to 20-year-old Mohammad Abdou Laghaoui Wednesday.
