USEVS school board members at odds over educational aide’s hours The Upper Sandusky Exempted Village Schools Board of Education passed a full slate of agenda items Monday night but not without some rare dissent. Following a nearly hourlong executive session to discuss personnel matters, James Morris voted against increasing Darlene Perricone’s educational aide hours from 5.5 to 7 hours per day, and Neil Kinley voted against accepting a bid from Park Enterprise, Marion, for a bus garage resurfacing project. Carey to receive Safe Routes grant CAREY — Carey Exempted Village Schools will be awarded the full $306,221 it requested from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Safe Routes to School Grant. The district’s proposed project will be funded in 2021. Read More
Riverdale to add concession stand at soccer field MOUNT BLANCHARD — Those attending Riverdale soccer matches will have a place to grab some refreshments in the near future. Superintendent Eric Hoffman reported to the school board at its regular meeting on Monday that the Riverdale Education Foundation and the school are moving forward with a concession stand facility at the soccer field. Wharton council approves fixed energy pricing WHARTON — Wharton Village Council passed two resolutions during its regular monthly meeting Monday. Council approved an ordinance giving energy supply company American Municipal Power Inc. the ability to purchase energy from a third-party source without an alteration to the price for the village. GOBA riders to stop in Wyandot Co. The first Bill Gordon memorial award goes to longtime Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure riders Rosa and Reuben Rall, of Upper Sandusky. They were awarded the numbers and received the Bill Gordon award which was new for GOBA 2017 and was created to honor GOBA’s late director who died June 11, 2016, just before last year’s event. One dies after Marion County motorcycle crash MARION – A 60-year-old Powell woman died from injuries she suffered in a motorcycle crash in Marion County on Saturday night.
