The joint board of Wyandot and Crawford county commissioners voted to dismiss the Wahrer ditch petition Thursday after the state’s tiebreaking vote stopped the project. Ohio Division of Natural Resources Director James Zehringer voted against proceeding with the petition, breaking a tie after Wyandot County Commissioners Steve Seitz, Ron Metzger and Bill Clinger voted in favor of continuing the project during a hearing in June.

CAREY — A Carey man driving a pickup truck hit a man riding on a motorized scooter Wednesday afternoon, police said. Steven Yonts was cited for pedestrian right-of-way after the pickup truck he was driving struck Daryl B. Sprau, Carey Police Chief Rich Kesler said.
