Children had an opportunity to make their own unique ugly Christmas sweaters Thursday from 3-4 p.m. at the Upper Sandusky Community Library for “That Thursday Thing.”

The Upper Sandusky Community Library board agreed to raise salary for 2018 in its December meeting Thursday. After an extensive executive session, the board moved to raise the salary schedule 1.8 percent across the board.

The Wyandot County Dog Shelter was damaged Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle accident. The crash report states an Upper Sandusky woman was traveling northbound on Ohio 199 and slowed to turn into a private drive at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The Wyandot County Auditor’s Office would like to remind residents that 2018 dog licenses now are on sale and must be purchased by Jan. 31 to avoid the late penalty charge. Licenses are required for all dogs 3 months of age and older and are $16 each.

Local children will have a merrier Christmas thanks to the Upper Sandusky Police Department. The department held its annual ‘Shop with a Cop’ event from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday.

The City of Upper Sandusky held a public meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Wyandot County EMS Building to present the findings of its project plan for the proposed Water Reclamation Facility upgrades.
