CAREY — During the Carey Village Council meeting on Wednesday, Mayor Jennifer Rathburn announced that Hanon Systems has selected the village of Carey for an expansion.

James Cohen, M.D., is the new medical director of the emergency department at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Dr. Cohen has worked as a full-time emergency medicine physician since 1985 and logged more than 100,000 hours of clinical experience. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

FINDLAY — Recruitment is underway to enroll participants in the next Micro Business Development Program offered by the HHWP Community Action Commission. The program consists of 13 sessions held from 5:45-8:45 p.m. on Thursdays beginning May 31 at the Findlay-Hancock County Chamber of Commerce, 123 E. Main Cross St., Findlay. The final session will be Aug. 23.

The new Robby Lee Memorial Courts at Bicentennial Park in Upper Sandusky will be broken in with a tournament this July. Cory Miller, a 2016 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, is organizing the Robby Lee 3-on-3 Tournament for July 7.

The Wyandot Major Crimes Unit issued a press release stating on Tuesday morning it served a search warrant at 18093 TH 94, Forest. Detectives located suspected controlled substances in the residence that consisted of cocaine, prescription medications and marijuana.

SYCAMORE — Sycamore Village Council announced during it’s regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday that the Sycamore community pool will open from 1-7 p.m. Saturday. Sycamore Mayor Vicki Weininger announced the pool has four lifeguards plus two managers with lifeguard certification.

MARYSVILLE — The 2017–18 Ohio Cattlemen’s Association Beef Exhibitor Show Total program wrapped up May 5 with its annual awards banquet held at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus. “The banquet is a time to celebrate the many achievements of our BEST participants, both in and out of the show ring,” said Stephanie Sindel, OCA Director of Youth Programs.

The United States Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency encourages dairy producers to consider enrolling in the new and improved Margin Protection Program for Dairy, which will provide better protections for dairy producers from shifting milk and feed prices.
