Many members of the Carey Blue Devils Marching Band performed during a community concert that was held at 6 p.m. Monday at the Dorcas Carey Public Library.

The Upper Sandusky Park Board heard from residents during its meeting on Monday. Jane Bell, an Upper Sandusky resident who lives near Bicentennial Park, complained about the lights from the basketball courts shining downhill into her living room.

CAREY — Carey Exempted Village School District Board of Education members on Monday voted unanimously to approve the administrative contract of Carey High School Principal Peter Cole. The administrative contract was extended from 2019 to 2024.

NEVADA — Many of the unmowed properties have been taken care of, Zoning Inspector James Snodgrass reported, but the village of Nevada still is trying figure out what it can do to address issues on other properties. Snodgrass said the Wyandot County Health Department said it is unable to help except if a property has rubber tires in the yard because that creates a mosquito hazard.

Dog owners and their dogs enjoyed the 15th annual Pawzfest put on by the Wyandot County Humane Society Society Sunday afternoon.

The 2018 Glow Run took place Friday evening at Stepping Stones Park in Upper Sandusky. The race included a 1-mile kids run (pictured) followed by a 5K race.

Area residents will have an opportunity to experience a blast from the past with a classic movie night 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Star Theatre in Upper Sandusky. The first night of the planned monthly series will feature the 1953 western film “Shane.”
