CLYDE — Join the Toledo Symphony Orchestra for an evening when friends, family and neighbors come together to celebrate the wonderful music of the holiday season at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30 at Clyde High School, 1015 Race St., Clyde.

Essex Place is hosting a gospel sing in the community room at 3 p.m. Saturday. Randy Long will be the guest performer.

Braxton LeMaster caused a mini-online sensation with his Gene Simmons of Kiss costume this past weekend for Upper Sandusky’s Halloween. Due to weather conditions, both Carey and Bucyrus postponed trick-or-treat from Wednesday to Saturday. Carey trick-or-treat is 3:30-5 p.m. and Bucyrus is 5-7 p.m.

Voters in Wyandot County will have the opportunity to help select their U.S. representative for Ohio’s 5th congressional district on Nov. 6. The choice has been narrowed down to incumbent Republican congressman Bob Latta and Democrat challenger Michael Galbraith.

The Wyandot County Veterans Service Commission discussed several upcoming Veterans Day events during its regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday. The Steer Barn is hosting a veterans appreciation dinner from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 12.

Upper Sandusky was visited Tuesday by candidate for lieutenant governor and current Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted. Husted is running with current Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine on the Republican ticket in a tight gubernatorial race against Democrats Richard Cordray and Betty Sutton.

Residents of Wyandot County will have two choices for county commissioner on their ballot Nov. 6. Incumbent Republican Ron Metzger looks to hold off Democratic challenger Jon Oberhauser.

The Upper Sandusky Exempted Village School District is hoping voters again will approve a 1.25 percent income tax during Tuesday’s general election. It is not a new tax and has been on the books for years. Two separate taxes were combined into one over a decade ago, Superintendent Laurie Vent said.

The Upper Sandusky Community Library held a special open house during its operating hours Monday to debut its new Adventure Central program. Adventure Central allows anyone with a USCL library card to check out unorthodox items from the library ranging from telescopes, musical instruments, metal detectors, sewing machines and more.
