MOUNT BLANCHARD — Seven Riverdale FFA members recently attended State FFA Convention. On the way to Columbus, they toured Keynes Brothers Elevator, which collects only food-grade wheat.

FINDLAY — A week of learning awaits teens at the Ohio Forestry and Wildlife Conservation Camp, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Forestry. The experience is June 12-17 at FFA Camp Muskingum on Leesville Lake in Carroll County.

More than 200 4-H and FFA members from 34 states, including the Upper Sandusky FFA chapter, competed in the 65th annual national land and range judging contest in Oklahoma on May 5.

COLUMBUS — The Upper Sandusky FFA traveled to the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus on May 6 for the 88th Ohio State FFA Convention.

The weather forced the program inside, but about a dozen participants received a variety of information about how to maintain a healthy aquatic environment in their ponds during the Wyandot Soil and Water Conservation District pond clinic Saturday morning.

The International Barrel Racing Association will present its 2016 Gymkhana show May 28 to benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates.

COLUMBUS — A team of Upper Sandusky FFA students placed third in the state in the environmental and natural resources career development event.

BUCYRUS — A team from Wynford placed second out of 53 teams of high school students from northwest Ohio when it competed at the Ohio Area 1 Envirothon at the Paulding County Fairgrounds on April 27.

The Upper Sandusky FFA chapter recently hosted its annual banquet with approximately 400 parents, FFA members and guests present. At the banquet, current and past FFA members and community members were recognized for their accomplishments over the past year.

The Wyandot County Solid Waste Management District and Recycling Center hosts an annual poster contest for children in third and fourth grades in Wyandot County schools. This year’s theme was “Work with Me to Save the Sea.”
