Wynford passes new school initiative BUCYRUS — Wynford Local Schools will be getting a new high school and junior high building after the passage of a 4.95-mill levy with an additional 1 mill for permanent improvement attached to that. Rathburn wins in bid to remain as Carey mayor CAREY — Jennifer Rathburn, one of three candidates looking to serve the remaining two years of an unexpired term, was elected on Tuesday to continue serving as mayor of the village of Carey. Rathburn received 52.07 percent of the vote, Robert T. Maison received 34.71 percent of the vote and John Green received 13.22 percent of the vote. Read More
Carey elects Troiano, Fletchers, Styer to village council CAREY — Anthony Fletcher, Chase Fletcher, Bob Styer Jr. and Dario Troiano all were elected into the four spots on the village of Carey Council on Tuesday. Troiano received 24.23 percent of the vote, Anthony Fletcher received 21.04 percent of the vote, Chase Fletcher received 20.67 percent of the vote and Styer received 20.10 percent of the vote. MHRSB levy passes The Mental Health and Recovery Services Board had one of the two county-wide levies on the ballot Tuesday for Wyandot County residents. The .6-mill levy passed with 3,207 voting for (61.92 percent) and 1,972 voting against according to the unofficial election results provided by the Wyandot County Board of Elections. Read More
Angeline levy approved overwhelmingly The Wyandot County Board of Developmental Disabilities/ Angeline was in need after state funding was cut over the last decade and it requested an additional levy on Tuesday’s ballot. Wyandot County residents responded with overwhelming support, passing a 1.5-mill levy with 3,195 voting for (61.7 percent) and 1,983 voting against. Read More
