The First Citizens National Bank has announced the promotions of two executive officers. Jevon J. Reile has been promoted to senior vice president/chief information officer, and Jennifer A. Romich has been promoted to senior vice president/chief lending officer.

COLUMBUS — The Bureau of Workers’ Compensation is seeking entries for the 2017 Safety Innovations Program. The annual program awards cash prizes from $1,000 to $6,000 to employers who develop innovative solutions to reduce the risk of workplace injuries and illnesses to their employees.

CAREY — At 83, Floyd “Punk” Pieracini still spends his days the same way he did when he was 23. The Carey native and owner of Pieracini’s Barber Shop has called the small space on South Vance Street his office since 1976.

The Daily Chief-Union incorrectly reported the expected value of two companies after a merger announced last week. An agreement for First Federal Bank, Defiance, to purchase Commercial Bancshares, Upper Sandusky, is expected to leave the combined organization with about $2.8 billion in assets, not $2.8 million.

First Defiance Financial Corp. is purchasing Commercial Bancshares of Upper Sandusky, the parent company of Commercial Savings Bank, for about $63 million, the Findlay Courier reported Friday.

The Upper Sandusky safety committee will have its monthly meeting Monday following the special city council meeting rather than rescheduling the meeting for Sept. 6 in observance of Labor Day. The safety committee normally meets the first Monday of each month after council.

A centuries-old form of Japanese martial art is coming to Upper Sandusky early next month. Kokoro Karate School, based in Findlay, has expanded into Wyandot County with its karate and yoga classes for youth and adults at 415 S. Warpole St.
