One Stop Carry Out owners David and Lori McLaughlin are settling in as their first year as business owners winds down. David, a Carey native, and his wife acquired the one-stop shop on Carey’s South Vance Street in January and have developed relationships with their fair share of regular customers.

CAREY — Carey’s ninth annual Trees of the Season event will coincide with Christmas in Carey on Dec. 2. Area business owners are invited to donate a tree, wreath, centerpiece or Christmas decoration showcasing their business to be given away during the event.

Black Friday is right around the corner and Americans will be rushing to registers with credit cards in hand. To help show where people have been most responsible with their cards, financial technology company SmartAsset, New York, has released its second annual study on places with the least credit card debt.

CAREY — For five years as the head of county economic development, Greg Moon has tracked steady progress in the department. Monday during the Wyandot County Office of Economic Development’s eighth annual dinner, at Dance on Vance in Carey, Moon was pleased to report the office had had its best year yet.

Upper Sandusky High School’s DECA student marketing association is partnering with Richardson’s Flowers and Gifts to offer customers a special “flower certificate” which can be redeemed for a free floral bouquet each month from January through October 2017.

CAREY — The Wyandot County Office of Economic Development celebrated its most productive year during its annual dinner Monday at Dance on Vance in Carey. The year included a record five business expansion projects; the office also helped establish a community reinvestment area in Sycamore, reinvigorated the Columbus-Toledo Midway Industrial Park in Upper Sandusky, partnered to present the first small business and entrepreneur development fair and hosted a regional JobsOhio network meeting.

CAREY — Kelly Sobol’s life took an enchanted sort of turn, so it’s no wonder she opened her new store front this fall with a visit from Cinderella. Mama Bear’s Den, at 205 S. Vance St. in downtown Carey, is a shop for many custom, hand-crafted items, including dresses and costumes for events and parties.

CAREY — Christmas in Carey is set for 5-8 p.m. Dec. 2. The annual event features Christmas Tree lighting at the gazebo, horse and carriage rides, pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, puppet shows, children’s crafts and free food in the village.
