Toni Rall, of Upper Sandusky, retired at the end of 2016 after working nearly 41 years at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Rall’s first job was in the business office. She also worked in data processing and patient registration.

CAREY — Poverello Federal Credit Union recently promoted Jacob M. Price to chief operations officer/credit union manager. Price is from the Alvada area and has more than 16 years of financial industry experience, primarily in the credit union field.

The Wyandot County Young Professionals will meet for the first time this year at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 26 at Splinter’s Cafe in Carey. Members will discuss plans for the year ahead.

The regularly scheduled service committee and Upper Sandusky City Council meetings, which would have been Monday, have been moved to Tuesday due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. The service committee will meet at 5:30 p.m., followed by council at 7:30 p.m.

When his work was being bogged down by inconsistent accommodations, Pete Miller “tabled” the matter. A retired Upper Sandusky Schools teacher and longtime Upper Sandusky athletic trainer, Miller two years ago developed his own portable training table to establish a consistent work environment.

ATTICA — North Central Electric Cooperative plans to begin construction on a community solar project in late February or early March that will allow its members to purchase the output of the panels, according to a news release.

Demolition on an abandoned Certified Oil gas station at the corner of West Wyandot Avenue and Eighth Street began Tuesday. L.J. Irving and Sons Demolition Inc., of Napoleon, is in charge of clearing the lot still owned by Certified Oil.

COLUMBUS — Registration now is open for the 2017 Ohio Safety Congress Expo (OSC17), the largest regional safety and health conference in the United States. The event, sponsored by the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, will run March 8-10 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

The Upper Sandusky Exempted Village School Board agreed to a resolution Monday night to allow Kimmel Cleaners to move forward with a tax agreement as it seeks to expand. The board passed a resolution to approve a community reinvestment area agreement between the city of Upper Sandusky and Kimmel Cleaners Inc.
