The First Citizens National Bank recently installed an ATM in the lobby of Wyandot Memorial Hospital. “We are excited about this new addition to our lobby area. We are confident that The First Citizens National Bank ATM will offer added convenience for our patients and their visitors, as well as for our staff,” WMH President and CEO Ty Shaull said.

Bluffton Hospital welcomes pediatrician

BLUFFTON — Bluffton Hospital, a division of the Blanchard Valley Health System, recently welcomed Jennifer Hohman, M.D., as its first pediatric hospitalist. Previously, patients newborn to 18 years old who required overnight care typically were transferred to Blanchard Valley Hospital or another nearby hospital with pediatricians on staff. Now that Hohman has joined Bluffton Hospital, children may be admitted without leaving town.

Extension office to close Fridays

The Wyandot County Extension Office will have adjusted hours beginning Oct. 12. Wyandot County 4-H Educator Todd Thomas accepted a position in Columbus and Area Leader and Hardin County 4-H Educator Mark Light will be assisting the Wyandot County Extension Office in the interim period.

One of Upper Sandusky’s institutions is celebrating its 25-year anniversary next week. East of Chicago Pizza in Upper Sandusky will have several special offers available to customers on Oct. 4. “We’re giving away free pizza for a year, one large pizza per month for 12 months,” East of Chicago Regional Manager Connie Smith said.

New counselor hired at Firelands

SANDUSKY — Firelands Counseling and Recovery Services is welcoming Scott Williams, LPCC-S, to work in the Upper Sandusky and Tiffin branches providing mental health and substance abuse services. In Tiffin, he will be facilitating the intensive outpatient program involving the patient in a weekly, nine-hour process designed to support them with their recovery from alcohol or other drug addiction.

Mandie and Joe Bayliff, of Dunkirk, closed on the dealership formerly known as Thiel’s Wheels Harley-Davidson on Aug. 1 and they held a big three-day Backyard BBQ event this past weekend to introduce themselves to the community.

The Wyandot County native — formerly Danielle Boes — has extensive experience in pediatrics, both as a certified pediatric nurse practitioner-primary care and as a registered nurse.
