The sound of the approaching train grows louder and the noise from the bar lessens. Patrons look out the windows, where now all that is visible are train cars speeding past on the tracks right outside the front door. It’s not hard to understand why this place, which suddenly seems to be in a different era, has been beloved and maintained for a century and a half.

Groves promoted at WMH

Tammy Groves, of Upper Sandusky, has been promoted to senior director of human resources at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Groves is responsible for all aspects of personnel management, including the new hire employment process and wage and salary administration. She coordinates staff performance reviews, and assists with orientation, retention and discipline. She also manages the human resource generalist, makes assignments to the communications secretary and oversees the hospital’s volunteer program.

In her role, Mason collaborates with high net-worth individuals and their advisers to articulate their goals and needs, develops a comprehensive wealth plan, and coordinates both internal and external advisers to implement the plan. In addition, she also manages IRAs, Roth IRAs, and individual investment management accounts. Mason is part of a team of experienced local trust administration professionals who understand the intricacies of executing a well-developed estate plan.

OhioHealth begins $46 million expansion to Marion hospital

MARION — OhioHealth’s $46 million, four-year master facilities plan in Marion is underway. The project features a new three-story private room expansion to OhioHealth Marion General Hospital that will allow most of the current semi-private rooms to transition to private rooms with additional capacity. This is the largest investment to date on the OhioHealth campus in Marion — all in an effort to provide simple, accessible and affordable care close to home.

Innovations celebrates 1-year anniversary

Innovations Hair Studio in Upper Sandusky celebrated its one-year anniversary with a ribbon cutting ceremony through the Wyandot Chamber of Commerce Thursday. Owner Ally Felkey, a 2007 Carey High School graduate, said she had 10 years of experience at a salon and was ready for a change when she started out on her own in May 2018.
