HHWP’s CAC head starts to host open houses in May

FINDLAY — During Community Action Month, the Hardin Hancock Wyandot Putnam Community Action Commission will host open houses featuring the Head Start preschool programs in Kenton and Findlay. HHWP CAC’s Hancock County Head Start preschool program will host an ice cream social and open house from 1-3 p.m. Friday at 545 Winfield Ave., Findlay.

Humane Society: May 3, 2016

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on April 28 and is correct as of that date: Pets reported as missing since the previous report that have not been found include a small female tiger cat with a white tip on her tail, a neutered male blue tick hound, a black and white female husky, a female calico cat with a lot of yellow in her coat and a neutered male white cat.

Safe Communities Coalition urges parents to take steps to keep teen safe

The Wyandot County Safe Communities Coalition is asking local parents to take extra steps this prom season to keep teens safe. While there may be great joy in watching teens, dress up, participate in a prom, take pictures and dance, all adding to lasting memories, the coalition reminds parents “it only takes one bad choice to turn a magical evening into a living nightmare.

Tiffin flea market begins for season Sat.

TIFFIN — The 2016 season for the Tiffin flea market, which supports Seneca County Junior Fair programs begins from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Seneca County Fairgrounds. The Tiffin flea market is one of the largest in northwest Ohio with eight buildings and more than 200 outside vendors offering a variety of items.

Sycamore seniors luncheon scheduled for Wednesday

SYCAMORE — The annual Sycamore senior citizens luncheon, sponsored by the Mohawk 60-Plus Club, will be at noon Wednesday at the Sycamore Community Center. Tickets are $5 each and may be purchased at the Mohawk 60-Plus Club from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday or by calling Chris at the 419-927-2381.
