Church to distribute free school supplies

BUCYRUS — Elementary school children from low-income families can get free school supplies, play games for prizes and visit an information fair with parents at the eighth annual back-to-school supply carnival and information fair from 3-6 p.m. Thursday at Bucyrus United Methodist Church’s Outreach Center, 216 Hopley Ave.

Patent attorney to speak

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk Community Library will host a program on intellectual property protection, covering inventions, patents, trademarks and copyrights at 6 p.m. Aug. 9. Jacob M. Ward, registered patent attorney with the law firm Fraser Clemens Martin & Miller LLC, will present the seminar.

Annual Victoria tea to have haunting theme

TIFFIN — “Victorian Tea: Drinkers and Winkers — Ghostly Tales of Tiffin” will be presented by Lisa Swickard during the annual tea presented by the Tiffin Historic Trust. The tea is set for 12:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at the trust’s Grammes-Brown House.

Picnic in the Park

The annual Picnic in the Park was held Friday. The event was moved to Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church due to a heat advisory that lasts through 8 p.m. Sunday.

McClain, Wysong exchange vows

Mackenzie N. McClain and Matthew B. Wysong exchanged wedding vows Feb. 28 at Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church. Mark Artrip and Chad Guined officiated the 3:30 p.m. ceremony. The bride is a daughter of Jeff and Barb McClain, Upper Sandusky. The groom is a son of Kenny and Sue Wysong, Springboro.

Safety services to be set up Saturday at Walmart

Walmart is hosting a safety carnival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 23 at its Upper Sandusky location. The Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Upper Sandusky police and fire departments and Wyandot County EMS, Health Department, Job and Family Services, Red Cross, Sheriff’s Office and United Way will join Walmart employees for the annual event to benefit Children’s Miracle …
